Hibiscus Lime Garden Fizz
A floral gin cocktail with elderflower, lime and Raw Kombucha
The Hibiscus Lime Garden Fizz is a light, refreshing cocktail that combines botanical gin, delicate elderflower and the tart floral character of Raw Kombucha Hibiscus Lime. Fresh cucumber adds a cooling finish, while the kombucha creates a naturally sparkling texture without making the drink overly sweet.
It is an elegant choice for brunches, sundowners, garden parties or relaxed evenings at home.
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1
Glassware: Highball, Collins or large wine glass
Ingredients
- 45 ml botanical gin
- 15 ml elderflower syrup or elderflower cordial
- 10 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
- 3 thin cucumber slices
- 100–120 ml chilled Raw Kombucha Hibiscus Lime
- Ice cubes
- 1 cucumber ribbon, for garnish
- 1 lime wheel, for garnish
- Edible flower or mint sprig, optional
Method
- Chill the ingredients
Refrigerate the Raw Kombucha Hibiscus Lime before preparing the cocktail. A well-chilled kombucha helps preserve the refreshing flavour and carbonation. - Prepare the glass
Fill a highball or large wine glass generously with ice cubes. - Release the cucumber flavour
Place the cucumber slices in a cocktail shaker. Press them gently with a muddler or the back of a spoon. Avoid crushing them completely, as this can make the drink taste bitter. - Add the cocktail base
Pour the gin, elderflower syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice into the shaker. - Shake
Add a handful of ice and shake for approximately 8–10 seconds, until the mixture is cold. - Strain
Double-strain the mixture into the prepared glass to remove cucumber pulp and small pieces of ice. - Top with kombucha
Slowly pour in 100–120 ml of chilled Raw Kombucha Hibiscus Lime. Pouring gently will help retain its natural fizz. - Stir carefully
Give the drink one or two gentle stirs to combine the ingredients without flattening the carbonation. - Garnish and serve
Add a cucumber ribbon, lime wheel and an optional edible flower or mint sprig. Serve immediately.
Flavour profile
Floral, citrusy and lightly botanical, with refreshing cucumber notes and a bright, sparkling finish. The elderflower enhances the hibiscus without overpowering the distinctive taste of the kombucha.
Bartender’s tip
For a slightly drier cocktail, reduce the elderflower syrup to 10 ml. For a fruitier variation, add 15 ml of cranberry or pomegranate juice before shaking.
